Head of Grocery (UK Retail)
London (Hybrid – 4 days per week in office)
Up to £120,000 + package
We are supporting a high-growth, premium UK food & beverage brand in the search for a Head of Grocery to lead and scale its presence across the major UK retail accounts.
This is a critical leadership role focused on building and expanding partnerships with key grocery retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons, driving both distribution and category growth for a brand with strong consumer momentum.
The Role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, this position will take ownership of the UK grocery strategy, with full accountability for driving revenue, distribution and retailer partnerships.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and executing the UK grocery strategy across major multiples
* Building and growing strategic relationships with key accounts including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons
* Leading all commercial negotiations including JBPs, pricing, promotions and range expansion
* Identifying and unlocking new opportunities for distribution, visibility and category growth
* Driving best-in-class execution across listings, launches and in-store activation
* Working cross-functionally with marketing, brand and supply chain teams to maximise performance
* Managing and developing a high-performing commercial team (where applicable)
* Using data, insight and category trends to inform strategy and decision-making
The Profile
We are keen to speak with commercially driven leaders who have a strong track record of building grocery accounts within the UK FMCG landscape.
Ideal candidates will typically have:
* Experience operating at Head of Grocery, Senior National Account Manager or Commercial Director level within FMCG or food brands
* A proven track record of managing and growing relationships with major UK retailers (Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons)
* Experience scaling challenger or high-growth consumer brands within grocery
* Strong commercial acumen across JBPs, negotiations and category management
* The ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment
* A passion for building brands and driving sustainable, long-term growth
