Data Validation Manager (ACC Status) - Remote - £45-50kAs Data Validation Manager you will work closely with the Senior Management to deliver a robust clinical coding validation programme to achieve and maintain the highest possible quality of coded data. The validation programme will extend across all specialties involving all clinical teams, using the ICD-10 and OPCS-4 Classification You will provide expert advice on clinical coding data aspects, coding inconsistencies, documentation issues and areas of under achievement to provide the Trust with a high quality clinical coding validation service.Acting as the validation lead for the Care Groups in the following coding quality improvement activities:- informal coding validation processes to measure the quality of coded data- clinician validation of coded data- coding query resolution- feedback of coding validation findings to clinical coding team- local coding guidelines development- standardisation of clinical terminology usedJob responsibilitiesThe post holder is responsible for working with clinical leads to undertake validation of coded data as the patient level, Providing verbal and written feedback to support and improve data quality, the depth of coding and the quality of source documents available to clinical coders. ThDelivering coding awareness sessions to clinicians and attending specialty meetings.Maintaining a productive working relationship with clinicians. Communicate the impact of complex interactions of clinical codes in the PbR framework and negotiate with the clinicians to improve the clinical documentation.Work with the Audit and Training Manager to carry out internal audits monthly and quarterly to measure the quality of the coded data to ensure compliance with National Clinical Coding StandardsEssential Requirements:3+ years' experience and Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC) statusExperience of interaction with clinicians and development of clinical engagementExperience of developing action plans to improve the quality of clinically coded dataExperience of disseminating audit findings, conclusions and recommendations to Clinical Coding staff, Leads and Care Group ManagersAbility to develop and deliver presentations to raise awareness of Clinical CodingUse of Microsoft applications e.g Word, PowerPoint and in particular, ExcelWhat we offer!27 days leave (increasing with length of service) plus 8 bank holidays Flexible working (we are happy to discuss options such as compressed hours) Flexi time Hybrid working model (we are currently working largely remotely) Career development Active wellbeing and inclusion networks Excellent pension This is a great role and enables you to work in a supportive, rewarding and progression-based position.
