Overview
Community First Aider (North Yorkshire & Teesside) volunteering with St John Ambulance strengthens communities. From youth support and education to wellbeing, events, and fundraising; your time makes a real impact. At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education.
What you will do
You will help people by delivering first aid to those in need through local events and by providing education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows. You will support the growth of community partnerships, helping to grow our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.
Support and development
You will receive a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. A supportive environment will be provided while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles is included in the role descriptions, and what we expect from volunteers is included in the volunteer charter.
Selection, training, and dates
We are looking to run volunteering selection sessions throughout August, September, and October. If selected, you will need to complete interview, screening, and DBS check online training and attend a face-to-face 2-day training course on the 15th & 16th of November in Middlesbrough.
