Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, demonstrating expertise and executing repairs efficiently. This role requires a meticulous approach to ensure all vehicles are safe and reliable for our customers.
You will be reporting directly to the front of house, you will have a flexible approach to tasks and be able to manage your own workload, be an excellent communicator with proven experience of working in a busy garage environment in an automotive setting.
The main objective of the role will be part of a small team but, you should be equally happy working on your own and should take a great degree of pride in carrying out tasks to an extremely high standard.
Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues.
* Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake replacements, and tyre rotations
* Repair or replace damaged parts and components as necessary.
* Maintain accurate records of all work performed on vehicles.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while working in the workshop.
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle's condition and required repairs.
* To adhere to the Company Policy & Procedure.
* To fit any parts or products specified by the Company to customer/company vehicles.
* Carry out a range of maintenance/repairs/servicing to customer vehicles, as required by the company.
* To maintain booking times given.
* To maintain the cleanliness of the work area and its equipment on an ongoing basis.
* To support the team in all its efforts to diagnose and upsell additional parts and services as required.
* To wear the uniform provided by the Company; to maintain it and present a smart personal appearance.
* To be available for work at the times specified by the company.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
* Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
* Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive repair are preferred but not essential.

Have experience in:
All aspects of automotive mechanical repair.
MOT Licence not necessary but would be an advantage or willing to train for this.
This vacancy is for a position in our workshop based in Bletchley, Milton Keynes.

We will need you to show a current clean driving licence.
