In this role you will manage and coordinate all technical, operational, and venue related activities at the Eastern Angles Centre, ensuring smooth delivery of productions, rehearsals, hires, and events. You will support Eastern Angles’ own touring productions and help develop a sustainable model for hosting visiting performances and community use. This role will include travel across Suffolk and East Anglia, and attendance at performances/events. About us Eastern Angles is more than a theatre company. Combining creativity with a strong community focus, we produce high-quality touring theatres that reaches audiences in both traditional venues and unexpected rural spaces such as village halls, community centres, libraries, schools, and even care homes. Core Responsibilities Venue Management: oversee the day-to-day running of the Eastern Angles Centre, including the rehearsal room, community space, and studio theatre ensure the venue operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all health and safety, fire, and licensing regulations maintain technical and facility inventories, scheduling regular maintenance, testing, and servicing of equipment liaise with the General Manager to coordinate room hires, venue bookings, and scheduling act as primary keyholder, responsible for venue opening, closing, and security protocols. Technical Management oversee the technical elements of Eastern Angles’ productions, rehearsals, and visiting performances oversee and operate lighting, sound, projection, and stage management systems for in-house and visiting shows support the setup, fit-up, and get-out of productions at both the Eastern Angles Centre and on tour ensure that all productions meet technical and safety standards, maintaining risk assessments and documentation develop and maintain a technical hire and maintenance schedule for the studio theatre and rehearsal spaces. Touring and Visiting Company Support liaise with the General Manager and Artistic Director to provide technical and logistical support for touring productions coordinate with visiting artists and production teams to meet their technical needs and ensure a positive experience at the venue support the planning and delivery of get-ins, get-outs, and changeovers for visiting productions. People and Collaboration supervise freelance and casual technical staff, ensuring appropriate training and induction work collaboratively with the General Manager, Production and Creative teams, and front-of-house staff to deliver a seamless visitor and artist experience support community groups and local artists in their use of the venue, encouraging creative participation and access. Health, Safety and Compliance serve as the venue’s technical and health & safety lead, maintaining compliance documentation conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to fire, electrical, and general workplace safety standards ensure that staff and volunteers are trained in safe venue and technical procedures. About You Essential: you have proven experience in technical theatre strong working knowledge of lighting, sound, and stage management systems experience with health and safety compliance, risk assessments, and technical documentation excellent organisational and problem-solving skills ability to work collaboratively in a small team and manage multiple priorities strong communication and interpersonal skills; confidence liaising with visiting companies and community groups willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends. Desirable: experience working within a small-scale touring company or community arts organisation knowledge of digital and livestreaming technologies full clean UK driving licence.
