What will you be doing as our new Graduate (SuDS Design Engineer)?
As a Graduate (SuDS Design Engineer), you’ll play a key role in delivering innovative Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) across the Anglian Water region — from schools and highways to parks and public spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in developing concept, outline, and detailed SuDS designs using Civil3D and InfoDrainage
2. Collaborate with internal teams (modelling, CAD, construction, landscape architects)
3. Support in liaising with local authorities, highways, schools, and community groups to co-design solutions
4. Support construction by fulfilling Designer responsibilities under CDM 2015
5. Apply CIRIA guidance, British Standards, and Anglian Water design frameworks
6. Support in creating safe, buildable, and maintainable SuDS designs with long-term performance in mind
What we’re looking for
You’ll bring:
1. A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (2:1 minimum)
2. Confidence working in retrofit and constrained urban environments
3. An understanding of drainage design standards and health & safety principles
4. Strong communication skills to engage technical teams and external stakeholders
5. A collaborative mindset and passion for sustainable, green infrastructure
