Subcontract Testing Team Leader - Maternity Cover

This role is a maternity cover position, from November 3, 2025, to November 3, 2026, working Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00.
The role's purpose is team accountability for production, HR, safety, customer satisfaction, quality, finance, and information systems.
Job Responsibilities:
* Deliver customer satisfaction by exceeding expectations to achieve a TAT of at least 93%
* Investigate non-conforming work
* Lead and develop a team of competent staff
* Invest in training and career development opportunities
* Plan holiday authorizations in line with operational needs
* Monitor departmental KPIs daily and address issues promptly
* Ensure equipment maintenance and operational readiness
* Optimize sample dispatch within 24 hours of registration
* Reduce overdue customer samples to less than 15 days
* Identify and correct testing errors at the quotation level
* Follow up on unreported samples and build sample specifications
* Investigate daily TAT misses and report findings
* Manage TAT adjustments for Interco samples
* Prevent delays in manual results entry and ensure TAT compliance
* Create and maintain daily priority trackers
* Oversee rush analysis and communicate delays to clients
* Ensure seamless customer communication and query resolution
* Manage sample registration, preparation, and analysis
* Maintain UK health and safety standards and a clean working environment
* Ensure proper use of PPE
* Drive continuous improvement in the laboratory
* Support compliance with UKAS accreditation standards
Qualifications and Skills:
* Understanding of Interco processes
* Good laboratory skills and experience with LIMs
* Enthusiasm and a driven attitude
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* At least one year of experience handling customer queries and building relationships
* GCSE grade C or above in Maths, English, Chemistry, or Biology, or equivalent
