A fixed term position for a GMC registered medical practitioner in the Gynaecology Directorate at the John Radcliffe Hospital has arisen. It is aimed at those with an interest in Urogynaecology with an opportunity to develop vaginal and laparoscopic urogynaecology skills in a tertiary setting.
It is anticipated that three days per week will be spent in Urogynaecology (clinics, theatres, MDT, outpatient clinic and diagnostics) and two days will be part of the general O+G rota as this post provides both Gynaecology and Obstetric services.
Out of hours this post is part of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology on call provision, covering both labour ward and gynaecological emergency services. The successful candidate will work on the senior tier of a -tier rota (SHO, middle grade, senior grade).
Research opportunities are available and actively encouraged.
The post is full time. It would be of particular interest to a post-CCT fellow, or ST/ as an OOPE or OOPT subject to approval. The ideal candidate will be an experienced clinician and a keen team worker. Prior experience in Urogynaecology is desirable. They will be interested in helping to offer services to women in line with the OUH Trust values.
Evidence of having passed MRCOG parts, and and experience at ST/ or equivalent level is essential. Main duties of the job

Obstetrics & Gynaecology The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology provides maternity and gynaecology service to the Oxford region and is responsible for over deliveries per year. It is also a tertiary referral centre for district general hospitals in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Northamptonshire. This is an approved training centre for subspecialties in Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Urogynaecology and Reproductive Medicine. It has close links to the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Oxford.
Urogynaecoogy We are a BSUG accredited unit with an RCOG approved subspecialty training programme, and receive local, regional, and national referrals. We offer all NICE recommended treatment options for prolapse and incontinence but have particular expertise in minimal access surgery (laparoscopic sacrohysteropexy, laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy, laparoscopic colposuspension). The key emphasis is on MDT working alongside specialist nurses and physiotherapists. There is a twice monthly dedicated MDT for Urogynaecology, and joint MDTs with the pelvic pain team and the colorectal team once a month. There is opportunity to participate in clinical research.
