Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families?
Do you have the drive to support and empower young people to achieve their full potential?
If so, Birmingham Children’s Trust wants you!
Breathe Trust Connect and New Growth Services
This is an exciting opportunity to join Breathe Trust Connect (our rapidly growing therapeutic support service for people impacted by the loss of a child through adoption) and New Growth (our therapeutic support offer to care experienced young people who are pregnant or parenting for the first time). If you are looking to develop your practice and passionate about working therapeutically with people to build relationships and establish safety, then this is the role for you.
We invest in our staff to gain therapeutic qualifications and we have created a space for not just our clients to breathe and slow down to process past and present trauma, but also for our staff to ensure they have access to clinical supervision and regular reflective group supervision. We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate person to join our service to support some of societies most vulnerable adults, who deserve the chance to understand what has happened to them and to feel hopeful for the future.
At Birmingham Children’s Trust, we are dedicated in providing outstanding care and support to children and families across Birmingham. Our mission is to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, nurturing environment. We are a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation, committed to innovation and excellence in social work practice.
As a Children’s Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will work closely with families, carers, and other professionals to assess needs, develop care plans, and provide ongoing support.
Our services will always be joined up and you will develop robust partnerships with other teams and outside agencies; to include the police, health, schools and voluntary organisations.
We have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, following a 2023 inspection. This is a fantastic achievement for Birmingham Children's Trust, with many positive highlights focusing on areas including the quality of staff leadership, partnership working, safeguarding and corporate parenting.
This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.
About You
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals who are committed to making a difference. The ideal candidate will have:
* A degree in Social Work and you must have completed your ASYE.
* Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
* Experience working with children and families in a social work setting.
* Strong assessment and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Our offer to you:
* A generous annual leave package of 30 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, rising to 33 days after 5 years of service and 35 days after 10 years of service.
* Free on-site parking.
* Full reimbursement of your annual Social Work England registration fee
* Flexible and mobile working policy - we are well adapted to a hybrid model of working which includes a combination of time spent in the office and at home.
* We are proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees - a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed on merit.
