About the Role
We are working with a leading international engineering and construction company delivering complex infrastructure projects across sectors such as energy, transport, and civil engineering. The organisation adopts a collaborative approach, integrating design, engineering, and construction to deliver efficient, high-quality outcomes.
The Temporary Works Engineer will manage temporary works procedures in line with project requirements, undertake design and/or independent design checking and support additional temporary works and engineering design activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed designs for temporary works and simple permanent works
* Manage internal and external design resources
* Oversee temporary works procedures and compliance
* Carry out independent technical reviews, including hazard and risk assessments
* Ensure adherence to relevant project procedures and standards
* Liaise with designers and other key stakeholders
Additional Responsibilities
* Apply lessons learned and promote best practice in safety and design
* Manage change control processes
* Provide internal and external progress reporting
* Participate in industry forums and professional groups where required
Required Knowledge & Experience
* Understanding of construction methods, materials, and design processes
* Experience in design within a consultancy or temporary works environment
* Membership of a relevant professional institution (or working towards)
* Ability to support or deputise for senior engineering roles when required
* Awareness of design responsibilities within construction projects
* Strong technical and analytical skills
* Effective communication and stakeholder management
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Collaborative and team-oriented approach
