Offer description

Overview

We are pleased to offer a rare and exciting opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our busy, supportive inner city GP training practice. This is a fixed term post for 9 months initially, created due to the short notice emigration of a valued salaried GP, with a clear view to a longer term and more substantive role for the right candidate. This role offers 6-8 sessions per week with an anticipated start date of February 2026. You will join a stable, well established practice where patient care, teamwork, and staff wellbeing genuinely matter, with capped workload arrangements, strong multidisciplinary support, and no regular routine home visits. This is a role designed to be both professionally fulfilling and sustainable.

If you are looking for a practice where you are valued, well supported, and able to focus on high quality patient care within a diverse community, this is an excellent opportunity to develop and thrive.

Responsibilities

* Provide high quality, patient-centred general medical services to a diverse inner city population, including a mix of telephone and face-to-face consultations with standard 10‑minute appointments and 20‑minute appointments where interpreters are required.
* Assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of acute and long-term conditions, supporting continuity of care and appropriate follow up.
* Work with a multidisciplinary team including pharmacists, advanced nurse practitioners, mental health practitioners, physician associate, GP assistants and social prescribers, with clear pathways for shared care.
* Senior, experienced GPs are available in person daily for advice, support and supervision as needed. Medicine management workload and document processing are capped for salaried GPs to ensure safe and manageable working.
* Home visits are very rare and would be required only in exceptional circumstances (e.g., patients receiving palliative care).
* Participate in clinical meetings, learning activities and ongoing professional development.

About Us

We are a well established inner city GP training practice with 3 GP trainers serving approximately 14,000 patients. Our team includes 3 full-time GP partners, 5 salaried GPs, 7 GP trainees, 3 full-time pharmacists, 2 advanced nurse practitioners, nursing staff, a physician associate, a mental health practitioner and in-house social prescribers. We value staff wellbeing, foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, and meet for coffee after every morning surgery to support connection and learning. We offer excellent transport links, pro rata study leave, indemnity cover, dedicated learning opportunities and a genuine commitment to staff care.
