Our client is a leading national tier 2 contractor, who are an established business with steady growth in the London Market.They have a number of projects across London from £40M-200M (mainly in Travel Zones 1-4) ranging from New Build multistorey RC frame toplex Cut & Carve, with a growing pipeline in PCSA.You would be working on a Cut & Carve,mercial to Hospitality, circa £70M due to start in the new year, taking the project from stage 2 through delivery to hand over. Although this project does not fall under the BSA/Gateway 2 process an understanding of this is desirable and will be beneficial for future projects.
You will:
1. Produce and negotiate project-specific designer agreements and scopes of work, ensuring clarity and alignment across all parties.
2. Ensure all designs are reviewed for Health & Safetypliance prior to construction, with hazards clearly noted on drawings at every stage.
3. Develop and manage a realistic design programme and information schedule to meet design, procurement, and construction requirements.
4. Provide input into design team Performance Development Reviews (PDRs).
5. Produce, agree, and manage the design programme and information flow, ensuring integration into the overall construction programme.
6. Manage the design approval process, including drawings, technical submittals, and samples through workflows; monitor and liaise with the client PM team.
7. Create and manage the information release schedule, RFIs, and contribute to the change control process.
8. Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to lead the design process, ensuring accurate information aligned with ERs, specifications, and cost plans.
9. Monitor design team and subcontractor resources to ensure programme dates are met.
10. Collate and review tender packs with the QS team; assist in consultant appointments and scope reviews.
11. Assist in linking design,mercial, and site teams strategically.
12. Support discharge of planning conditions alongside the design team.
13. Manage Building Controlpliance, inspections, and quality control.
You will have:
14. A Degree or equivalent (such as architecture, construction management, construction project management, design management or architectural technology).
15. Significant relevant project experience in Project focused Design roles in the construction industry taking projects through the RIBA stages.
16. Knowledge of Health & Safety and other regulatory matters (BSA/ Gateway2).
17. IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and CAD.
