About the FCA & the Team
We regulate financial services firms in the UK, protecting consumers, driving economic growth, and shaping UK finance. The Enforcement & Market Oversight (EMO) team monitors markets, enforces UK Listing Authority activities, and investigates misconduct. Within the Enforcement Intelligence and Specialist Services Directorate, the ETIC Unit strengthens intelligence use across the regulatory lifecycle.
Role Responsibilities
* Drive collaboration across enforcement triage, intelligence networks, and internal teams to ensure intelligence informs priorities and strategic objectives.
* Represent the FCA in external intelligence‑sharing forums, managing sensitive requests and referrals.
* Lead and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of coaching, professional growth, and accountability.
* Influence decision making by engaging stakeholders and providing actionable intelligence products.
* Contribute to departmental strategy and operations, ensuring cross‑functional alignment and measurable impact for the FCA.
* Operate as a specialist intelligence bureau, managing inbound/outbound enquiries and providing tactical insights for early interventions.
Minimum Skills Required
* Experience leading and uplifting teams, managing priorities and supporting growth.
* Experience in UK criminal investigations and intelligence gathering with a calm, capable approach to complex situations.
* Experience building stakeholder relationships to enable impactful regulatory or criminal outcomes.
Essential
* Strategic, adaptable leader with a record of coaching, innovation, and alignment to organisational goals.
* Clear communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills, simplifying complexity and building trust.
* Accredited by NCA POCC as a Financial Intelligence Officer or confident in applying SARs, with strong knowledge of financial intelligence systems.
* Experienced in intelligence operations, project delivery, financial intelligence systems, and supporting out‑of‑hours activity when needed.
