As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will join the Thanet Community Mental Health Team, which has a dedicated Duty team, assessment, and CAPA assessment team. There is robust medical support to ensure medical leadership. The service covers the eastern area of the town, an area of social deprivation with drug and alcohol-related difficulties. You will not be responsible for inpatients. You will interact with specialties such as the Mother and Infant Mental Health team and Neuropsychiatry.
Successful applicants will ideally have MRCPsych or equivalent, be on, or within six months of inclusion on, the Specialist Register. You must be fully GMC registered, have Approved Clinician status, and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or achieve this within 3 months).
Main duties of the job
1. Conduct assessment and treatment of mental health conditions under secondary mental health services.
2. Manage, appraise, and supervise junior medical staff, in line with policies and procedures.
3. Participate in service and business planning for the locality and the wider mental health services.
4. Collaborate with local managers and colleagues to ensure efficient service operations.
5. Handle administrative duties related to patient care.
6. Attend and contribute to the Trust's academic program, including lectures and seminars.

* MBBS or equivalent qualification.
* Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
* On the GMC Specialist Register or within six months.
* Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months.
