The job itself
Hours of Work:
1. Morning: 7:45am - 8:30am
2. Afternoon: 3:30pm - 6:00pm
3. School Holidays: Hours to be agreed with parents.
Alternative role hours: Monday-Friday, 3:45pm - 5:45pm (flexible, job share possible).

They like taking part in practical or creative activities, spending time walking or going out into the community, exploring shops, and engaging with their interests in organised or research-based tasks. They also attend a weekly club on Monday evenings.

About the Role
You will be supporting an 11‑year‑old boy, who has Autism. Support is required:
9. Before and after school.
10. During school holidays (to be arranged with parents).
11. At home and out in the community.
Your role will include helping with the transition home after school, settle into his routine, and enjoy meaningful activities in the community.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
12. Welcome home from the school minibus each afternoon.
13. Support him to settle after his school day.
14. Encourage and enable him to take part in activities outside the home.
15. Plan simple, enjoyable outings (e.g. shops, library, local activities).
16. Provide emotional support.
17. Help improve social skills.
18. Keep him safe in the community.
19. Support him to fulfil his potential and aspirations.
20. Transport him to activities as required.
21. Encourage independence and staying on task.
22. Support with morning routines, toilet reminders, and after‑school activities.
23. Settling and supporting the individual.
24. Attending/transporting the individual to social activities and appointments.
25. Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
About You

DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
