Receptionist / Cashier Organisation: Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Location: 60 Cecil Street, Newry, BT35 6AU Pay Rates PAY: £14.07 per hour Role Overview We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Receptionist / Cashier to provide a welcoming first point of contact at Council leisure facilities. The post holder will deliver high-quality reception services, handle cash transactions, manage bookings, and provide effective administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities Deliver front-of-house reception services, handling enquiries in person and by phone Operate booking systems, diaries, and admission controls Process cash and electronic payments in line with Council procedures Provide general administrative support including record-keeping and use of Microsoft Office Assist with customer information, promotions, and quality systems documentation Liaise with internal staff, contractors, and suppliers as required Support security, housekeeping, and health & safety procedures within reception areas Essential Skills & Attributes Strong customer service and communication skills Experience of cash handling and administrative duties Ability to use computerised systems confidently Organised, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team Flexible approach to working hours to meet service needs
