How do you ensure self-development of new engineering skills and experience? This Associate Development Engineer role comes with a broad scope and exposure to lots of different projects. You'll be guided by experts; this will allow you to further develop and grow new skills as whilst contributing to a net zero future. This role is flexible on location in England or Wales and hybrid working. You'll join the Asset Operations Overhead Lines Team who are responsible for delivering a range of infrastructure projects which are key to enabling the journey to Net Zero. This involves pre-construction optioneering & development for Overhead Lines (OHL) & Cables upgrades, replacement and full refurbishment. We also manage large contracts for tower painting and vegetation management, specialist projects and the Cellular portfolio. You will support a multi-disciplined investment team in the project setup, option selection, development, sanction, tender and contract award of investments. Initially you'll be supporting the team then progress towards leading your own projects during pre-construction phases through to delivery, actively managing key stakeholders to ensure their timely input and agreement to the selection and development of investments, pursuant to timely approvals, ensuring efficient delivery of projects. What are the requirements? Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline, or relevant experience such as managing projects. An understanding of engineering and employing project and/or contract management practice. You'll have commercial awareness with demonstrable experience of supporting cross functional teams and a stakeholder-centric approach. CDM Regs, Health & Safety and Environmental legislation knowledge. Desirable - Membership of a relevant professional body - if not we'll support you.
