The Healthcare Apprentice position in the Secure Care Division is a 12-month learning opportunity to gain valuable experience in a specialist service while undertaking an Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework at level 2. The apprenticeship includes exposure to both clinical and educational experiences.
Responsibilities
* Carry out assigned duties involving direct care and observation of Service Users under the guidance and supervision of a qualified nurse or other team member as delegated.
* Participate in the shift system in operation within the ward/team/department.
* Attend education sessions to support attainment of the Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework at level 2.
* Following successful engagement with course requirements, a band 3 Nursing Assistant post may be offered on completion.
The post is in the Secure Care Division and, as the division is mobile, you may be required to work at multiple sites (Ashworth Hospital, Rowan View, Rathbone Hospital, Hollins Park and Aspen Wood).
Qualifications and Requirements
* Applicants must have been in the UK for 3 years.
* Those with temporary right to work must have a visa that allows access to government funding and a visa length extending beyond the course plus an additional 6 months to cover resits.
* Applicants who do not meet these visa requirements will not progress to the next stage.
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks are required; duties may involve enrolment in the DBS Update Service (fee payable).
* A 12-month apprenticeship programme with placements across the Secure Care Division while undertaking an Intermediate Apprenticeship Health and Social Care Framework at Level 2 (weekly attendance at Hugh Baird College).
* Only candidates who do not hold a CQF in Health and Social Care at Level 2 or a full apprenticeship at that level can be considered.
* Flexible working requests will be considered; artificial intelligence usage in applications is monitored and must be declared.

* The new entrants to the NHS commence on the first pay point of the relevant band.
