Family Support Worker
(located within a 50-mile radius of our office HR6 9UZ) hybrid working, (work from home and out in the field, locations determined by caseload)
Starting salary £25,500 per annum (39hrs per week)
DBS and employment references will be required.
Phoenix Fostering is an independent fostering agency specialising in the therapeutic care of children and young people.
We seek a family support worker to undertake direct work with young people, with a small caseload of no more than five. You will work flexibly between, home working and other locations dependent on the young people you support.
You will work closely with the family support work coordinator, other family support workers, foster carers, social workers, the behaviour specialist, managers and therapeutic professionals within a highly motivated, committed and friendly multidisciplinary team.
Ideally, we would like someone who has a qualification in health and social care or at least one year of experience working with children and young people. This is not essential though as full training will be given. You will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and references if successful.

* You will be joining a small specialist agency with an established reputation for excellence.
* Experience in working with children/young people or adults is desirable, as is a qualification in health and social care or equivalent. This is not essential though as full training will be given. You will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and references if successful.
* You will be allocated a case load of no more than 5 children/young people.
* We have placements throughout the West Midlands within a 50 mile radius of Wigmore, (Herefordshire). You will be required to travel to the locations necessary for the children you will support and other locations as necessary. You must have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes, which includes picking young people up from school and transporting them during your session until return to their foster home. Work miles are paid at 45p per mile.
* You will undertake direct work with children and young people, supporting them with their behaviour, regulate their emotions, understand their life narrative, build their self esteem and social skills in order to help them recover from trauma and achieve for their future. Please note direct work on a full caseload usually takes place between 3pm and 6pm four weekdays each week. Therefore you must be able to work flexibly between the hours of 9 am and 6.30pm on weekdays, organising your own calendar accordingly.
* You will be required to attend professional meetings regarding young people, working closely with foster carers, social workers, education workers, therapeutic professionals and other members of the Phoenix team.
* Professional support will be available to you from social work staff, the behaviour specialist, administrators, other family support workers, an experienced management team and independent therapeutic professionals.
* Comprehensive and ongoing quality training, both mandatory and optional will always be available.
* Participation in our 24 hour, 365 day On Call support service is a requirement of the role.
* A starting salary of £25,500.00 will be paid plus work mileage and a phone allowance.
