About the Role
EKC Group is seeking to appoint a Deputy Head in the Professional Industries department. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment within the department, monitoring key performance indicators, and implementing swift and effective interventions.
The Deputy Head will support the development of the department's curriculum and collaborate with the Head of Department to execute the strategic plan. Responsibilities include implementing the area's quality improvement plan, enhancing the student experience, ensuring the curriculum remains current and responsive to industry and community needs, and analyzing department data such as retention, achievement, attendance, and student satisfaction to drive improvements.

About You
We are looking for a highly organized and enthusiastic individual to work alongside the Head of Department in overseeing program delivery. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of maintaining high standards and implementing improvements within a department.
The candidate should have a background in education, a teaching qualification, and preferably experience in line managing or leading a team. Responsibilities include conducting staff appraisals, teaching and learning observations, staff one-to-one meetings, and managing a team of lecturers and support staff.
Experience in a further education environment and supporting lecturing staff to deliver high-quality teaching to young people is essential. The candidate will also serve as the first point of contact for program leaders when the Head of Department is off-site.
