An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and caring individual to join our team in the Cardiac Outpatient Department. The successful candidate will be supported to develop their knowledge and skills through our Support Worker Development Programme for Nursing Assistants. The successful applicant must be able to relate positively with patients, staff and visitors to the department. A degree of flexibility is required as you will need to participate in a variety of shift patterns to meet the needs of the service.
You Will Need To Have
* Completed the National Care Certificate
* Hold a level 3 Vocational Qualification (e.g. NVQ or Apprenticeship) in Clinical Healthcare or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and/or experience
* Excellent communication skills – in particular listening skills
* A friendly, open, empathetic and compassionate communication style
* A strong ability to engage with patients, visitors and colleagues
* The ability to work well in a team
The Post Holder Will
* Provide care to all patients attending the Cardiac Outpatient department.
* Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and healthcare practitioners.
* Coordinate the Outpatient clinics which includes management of patient flow and experience.
* Perform clinical observations, 12 lead ECGs and venepuncture.
* Undertake various point of care tests which include blood glucose test and NT-proBNP’s and record results.
