Role Description
Eastside Educational Trust is looking for an experienced Editor and Cinematographer, both with a strong background in the film industry to speak with a group of 21 aspiring filmmakers (aged currently taking part in the BFI Film Academy.
As part of our Careers Carousel, you will join a 30 minute Zoom call to share your personal career journey, offer practical insights into the industry, and answer questions from enthusiastic students looking to break into film.
This is an opportunity to inspire and mentor the next generation of filmmakers by offering them a real world look into life as an Editor or Cinematographer.

Remote (1x 30 minute Zoom session)
What You'll Do
* Join a 30 minute virtual session with BFI Film Academy students
* Share your journey into editing or cinematography and the wider film industry
* Discuss your experiences, challenges, and lessons learned
* Offer practical tips and advice for those starting out in film
* Engage with students in a Q&A format at the end of the session
About You:
* Professional experience as a Film Editor or Cinematographer across a variety of projects
* A strong understanding of the film industry, the visual language of film and the realities of working in the industry
* Passion for supporting young creatives and sharing knowledge
* Confident and engaging speaker, comfortable discussing your work, sharing real world advice and answering questions
* Desirable: Live in / grew up in any of the following boroughs: Brent, Croydon, Enfield, Newham or Barking and Dagenham
