We have an opportunity for someone to join our team in the Cardiac Cath Labs and Day Ward as Band 3 HCA / Cath Labs Technician. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated person, preferably with experience interacting with and caring for cardiac patients, to join our growing workforce.
Currently, we have 6 cardiac cath labs, 9 day case beds, 5 radial chairs and 4 recovery space. You will be supported by a visible cath lab leadership team to help you achieve essential skills and competencies.
This post will require a mixture of shifts including nights to support service expansion.
Main duties of the job
* To support a multi‑disciplinary specialist team in delivering delegated care to patients within the cardiac cath labs.
* Assist in the provision of care to patients, being supported and supervised by a registered nurse.
* Scrub and circulate for specified cardiac cath lab procedures, adhering to infection control and prevention guidelines, and local guidelines.
* To provide aspects of personal healthcare as directed and delegated by the multiprofessional team.
* To support the provision and delivery of health care and health promotion advice in order that patients are informed and empowered to make appropriate health choices to support their independence.
* Carry out assigned duties which maintain hygiene, orderliness and safety of the ward/department environment.
* To be flexible in working practices and areas.
* To support and champion local quality improvement initiatives including but not limited to patient experience, green plan and etc.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
* Level III NVQ in Care or equivalent experience.
* Basic computer experience.
* Good numeracy & literacy.
Experience
* Health Care Assistant experience and knowledge appropriate for banding.
* Use of patient administration system i.e., Cerner.
* Use of audit and survey platforms i.e., FFT survey.
Skills / knowledge / abilities
* Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative.
* Can discuss and apply knowledge and experience to patient care.
* Able to carry out assigned task effectively in a busy, dynamic environment.
* Able to use technology and equipment to assist in patient care.
* Evidence that candidate is competent in patient interaction within the cardiac ward environment.
