Responsibilities
* Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients for various dishes.
* Washing, peeling and preparing food ingredients
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all utensils and equipment are properly cleaned and stored.
* Support chefs during meal preparation by following instructions and helping with cooking tasks as needed.
* Record keeping - ensuring that all regulatory requirements are adhered too
* Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards to ensure a safe working environment.
* Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and assist in inventory management.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is required
* Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking.
* Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards is highly desirable.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and presentation.
* A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in the care home.
