Overview
There are exciting developments in Wirral CYPMHS. We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Assistant Psychologist to enhance and support the outcomes for SEND & neurodiversity within primary care in Wirral 0-18.
We are offering a full-time post until January 2027 which will provide a range of opportunities including supervision with a clinical psychologist, data gathering and face-to-face work with families & young people.
Shortlisting for this vacancy is due to commence on 09/04/2026 and the proposed interview date is 17/04/2026.
All new starters will commence in post on one fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date. P2C offers up to 3 weeks training to support you to meet the induction / initial training requirements of the role.
Key Responsibilities
* Work independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
* Assist in clinically related administration.
* Conduct audits and outcome measures, collecting statistics.
* Develop audit and/or research projects.
* Provide teaching and project work.
* Work with families, specifically those with neurodiversity and SEND needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Must meet the ‘essential’ criteria described in the person specification for an available position.
