Role Description
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Software Engineer
to lead the rebuild and migration of an existing application as a new application. You will be responsible for delivering a modern, secure, and scalable web application that aligns with our technology standards and GOV.UK design principles. The role involves working closely with our Product Manager and stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition from the current system to a .NET and JavaScript stack hosted on Microsoft Azure.
Key Responsibilities
* Rebuild the web tool
using Attikas supported technologies (.NET backend, modern JavaScript frontend, Docker containers).
* Migrate all content, data, and functionality
from the existing system to Azure PostgreSQL and Blob Storage.
* Integrate with GOV.UK Notify
and Attikas IAM authentication services.
* Implement
CI/CD pipelines
using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
* Ensure compliance with
GDS accessibility standards
, security best practices, and performance benchmarks.
* Provide
documentation and knowledge transfer
to Attikas internal teams, including Software Design Documents and operational runbooks.
* Collaborate using
Scrum methodology
, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in
.NET (ASP.NET Core)
development and
JavaScript frameworks
(React or ).
* Strong knowledge of
Azure services
(AKS, Container Apps, PostgreSQL, Blob Storage, Application Insights).
* Experience with
containerisation (Docker)
and orchestration.
* Familiarity with
CI/CD pipelines
and DevOps practices.
* Understanding of
data migration strategies
and rollback planning.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile environment.
Desirable
* Experience with
public sector digital services
and GOV.UK standards.
* Prior work and knowledge of legacy system.
* Familiarity with
Celery, Redis, and AWS S3
.
* Ability to implement accessibility improvements.
