This exciting opportunity has arisen to work as an advanced Clinical Practitioner physiotherapist specialising in spines within CENTRAL CMATS (Clinical musculoskeletal assessment and treatment service).
An exciting opportunity for a musculoskeletal (MSK) Advanced Practice Physiotherapists (APP), to join the Clinical Musculoskeletal Assessment and Triage Service (CMATS) spinal team, based at Glan Clywd Hospital, near Rhyl.
The successful candidate will work as an autonomous, advanced clinical practitioner within a team to deliver Spinal CMATS in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB); providing a spinal triaging service, a high standard of highly specialist assessment and treatment of spinal musculoskeletal patients in locations within the Conwy and Denbighshire area. Using evidence based principles/ current best practice and advanced clinical skills and clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
The post holder will plan, lead and be responsible for the delivery and development of practice in the specialist area. They will fulfil the 4 pillars of advanced clinical practice and will provide advice to the BCUHB wide Physiotherapy Clinical Network Groups.
This is a clinical role the job plan focus being clinical activity and the balance being research, audit, and education and developing the clinical models for BCUHB physiotherapy.
Main duties of the job
To take a clinical lead role in the assessment and treatment of patients where the caseload will comprise of mainly patients with highly complex
presentations. This will be through highly specialist / extended scope clinical knowledge and application, audit, research and education. It will require liaison with a diverse number of multidisciplinary specialities and integrated working with other disciplines and agencies.
To work as an autonomous, clinical highly Specialist Physiotherapist. To work with the Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist to develop and deliver a high quality clinical service throughout BCUHB. Leading by example; provide a high standard of specialist assessment and treatment of patients in a variety of locations. Using evidence based principles / current best practice and advanced clinical skills and clinical reasoning assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
To develop competencies for frontline clinical staff within the section in order to assess; clinically reason and effectively treat routine cases and identify those with complex needs where support may be required.
To provide an ongoing rolling training programme and support package to develop appropriate knowledge and skills in the workforce within the
specialism and rotational staff base
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

* Degree/Graduate Diploma in physiotherapy
* HCPC registered
* Obtained or working towards post graduate (Master's qualification)
* Extended scope skills or working towards
* Able to demonstrate continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
* Membership of appropriate special interest group
* Management leadership training
* CSP member
Experience
Essential criteria
* Extensive experience of working as a Senior Physiotherapist
* Experience of delivering clinical education in area of speciality
* Evidence of teaching within post
* Proven multidisciplinary working
* Experience of audit
Desirable criteria
* Experience of lecturing externally
* Involvement in research
* Competency in extended scope practice in the specialism
