Internship: Exploring General Business & Beyond
The mission of the Michigan Craft Beverage Council is to advance a well-connected craft beverage industry through research, promotion, and agricultural business development, reinforcing Michigan as a world-class craft beverage destination. This Communication Student Assistant position is primarily responsible for supporting the Michigan Craft Beverage Council program manager in marketing, communications, events, and data entry.
The role involves researching, drafting, and editing various materials such as social media content, website content, educational resources, and business outreach communications. Additionally, the assistant will help organize research reports, photography, contacts, licensee and farmer maps, and assist with program committees: Research, Marketing, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The Communication Student Assistant will support marketing and communication activities, providing organizational and digital platform support for audiences related to Michigan’s craft beverage industry.
Individual tasks include:
1. Assisting with drafting reports, news releases, social media posts, publications, presentations, e-newsletters, fact sheets, educational materials, and business development resources.
2. Organizing content for digital databases such as research, marketplace, directory, contacts, and photography assets.
3. Updating the Michigan Craft Beverage Council website (www.michigancraftbeverage.com) as directed by the Program Specialist.
4. Participating in webinars, events, and outreach efforts, including supporting program staff with stakeholder engagement.
Administrative support tasks include:
1. Preparing for Michigan Craft Beverage Council meetings.
2. Compiling data for program dashboards and metrics.
3. Attending relevant MDARD meetings and assisting with communication projects for the department.
Required Education and Experience
Education
Current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or a post-secondary educational institution.
