The post holder will attend both in-house and external training to acquire the skills and experience necessary to work flexibly across all areas of the Neuromodulation service. They will support patients throughout the ECT or TMS care and treatment pathway, from assessment to treatment and monitoring. The role involves ensuring referrals are discussed at MDT meetings and patients are supported in the most appropriate treatment pathway. The post requires maintaining practice standards in the ECT and TMS services in line with national and local guidelines, understanding ECTAS accreditation standards, and providing consistent, high-quality care for all referred patients.
The successful candidate will ensure safe clinical practice in accordance with Care Quality Commission standards and the NHS Constitution, delivering effective, safe services aligned with clinical governance. They will support continuous improvement and uphold high standards of care within a supportive environment.
The Neuromodulation service is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic Band 5 nurse to join a dynamic and friendly team at Kingfisher Court Mental Health Unit in Radlett. The role is part-time, working 12 hours and 40 minutes per week across three shifts, with service hours from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. The successful candidate will be provided with training in ECT and TMS to make a meaningful difference to individuals with mental health needs. Good IT skills are essential.
Requirements include:
1. RNMH/RNLD/RGN with at least 1 year of experience
2. Intermediate Life Support training
3. Current NMC registration
4. Basic IT skills, particularly MS Word
Desirable criteria include specialist knowledge of ECT, relevant professional degrees, clinical supervision and teaching experience, specific ECT and TMS training, leadership skills, risk assessment experience, effective communication within MDTs, and knowledge of legal issues related to mental health treatment.
