Town Centre Manager (2 year Fixed Term Contract)

This role is a unique opportunity to lead on the sustainable growth, vibrancy, and strategic development for the borough’s most iconic and diverse town centres including Woolwich, Greenwich, and Eltham. You will have extensive experience in economic development, stakeholder engagement, and cross‑departmental coordination. This is an ambitious agenda and you should be excited to drive forward the development of our town centres.
Base Pay Range
Pay range provided by Royal Borough of Greenwich. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience – discuss with your recruiter to learn more.
Responsibilities
* Establish and manage Business Improvement Districts.
* Deliver a diverse events programme within the town centre.
* Forge strong strategic partnerships and work across services such as highways, community safety, events, and licensing to deliver joined‑up and impactful results.
* Monitor outcomes using key town centre statistics and produce clear, evidence‑based reports for senior management.
* Foster collaboration between the council, businesses, residents, and partner agencies, acting as a bridge and champion for collective success.
* Leverage a strong understanding of heritage, place identity, and sustainability to make town centres welcoming, attractive, and safe spaces for all.
* Oversee capital project delivery within multi‑disciplinary teams and with consultants, ensuring high‑quality outcomes that reflect community needs and aspirations.
* Demonstrate proactive, solutions‑driven leadership in shaping the physical, economic, and social environments of town centres.
* Proficiently use Microsoft Suite, including Excel and other data software.
