Process Engineer Location: Ormskirk, West Lancashire Salary: £35,000 dependant on experience Degree: Degree/Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering WHO ARE WE? THE ROLE A vacancy has arisen within our Process and Mechanical Services, Engineering Section for a Process Engineer. The position will report directly to the Process and Mechanical Services Section Head and will be based at the European Technical Centre, Lathom but candidates must be willing to travel overseas and may be required to spend periods on construction sites at home and abroad. This is typically 4 to 6 weeks (with a short return to the UK) and is expected wherever the business opportunity exists. Architectural Engineering provides a total project engineering service for capital projects on behalf of NSG Group and client companies, worldwide. This service covers all aspects of the project from feasibility studies, through specification, design and procurement to installation and commissioning. Capital projects can vary between the total build of a new factory installation on a Greenfield site to a major overhaul of an existing plant. Key responsibilities will be: Produce mass and energy balances Develop engineering drawings e.g. PFDs and P&IDs. Participate and lead in process safety assessments e.g. HAZOP and DSEAR assessments. Package management of unit operations and process equipment and specification to factory acceptance testing, installation and commissioning. Support and take a lead role during the design, implementation and commissioning of capital projects. Work closely with R&D and manufacturing to improve the coating process. Manage and control contractors in the UK and overseas. Lead the chemical commissioning of a coating plant. Work across a multi discipline team. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? You and your Skills Batchelors degree (and ideally Masters degree) in Chemical Engineering. A working knowledge of key legislation (COMAH, ATEX Directive and PED).
