Mitie is seeking an experienced and driven Head of Operations to lead delivery across a high-profile national portfolio.
The Role
You will lead the delivery of integrated facilities services across multiple sites, ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑performing operations across both hard and soft service lines.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading national IFM delivery across hard services (M&E, fabric) and soft services (cleaning, catering, workplace services, front‑of‑house)
* Driving consistent performance against KPIs, SLAs, and contractual obligations
* Leading, developing, and inspiring a team of senior operational leaders
* Strengthening client confidence and stakeholder relationships at a senior level
* Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and service innovation
* Supporting the delivery of the Account Plan and wider strategic objectives
* Ensuring full compliance across HSE, statutory, and contractual requirements
* Leading performance reviews, reporting, and operational governance
What We're Looking For
Experience
* Senior‑level experience in Integrated Facilities Management (IFM)
* Proven track record delivering multi‑site, national portfolios
* Strong experience across both hard and soft FM services
* Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, and complex delivery models
Leadership
* Experience leading senior managers within multi‑layered teams
* Track record of transformation, stabilisation, or culture change
* Ability to operate as a trusted number two with progression to Account Director
Client Engagement
* Highly credible, confident, and visible with senior stakeholders
* Strong relationship builder with the ability to influence and rebuild trust
* Commercially aware and solutions‑focused
Technical & Operational
* Strong understanding of compliance, H&S, and statutory FM requirements
* Commercially astute, with experience in budgets, reporting, and performance management
