Are you a natural at getting invoices over the line and keeping things organised? This temporary Credit Controller role in Portsmouth puts you at the heart of a team that plays a key part in keeping the organisation running smoothly. Working within a supportive public sector finance team, you’ll use your credit control skills to make sure payments are received on time - all while enjoying flexible hours, great transport links, and a quick start.
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
* Ensuring outstanding monies owed by external customers are paid on time and to agreed terms
* Proactively following up on and resolving customer queries - often liaising with other teams as well as external customers to get things sorted quickly
* Managing a designated accounts area, including monitoring aged debt reports and contacting customers (via phone and email) to maximise payment collection
* Negotiating payment solutions with customers and advising on the best recovery strategies for outstanding debts
* Accurately recording customer billing information on the finance system
* Preparing and presenting monthly reports
What you will need:
* Previous experience in a similar role, such as Credit Controller / Credit Control Clerk / Accounts Receivable Clerk / Sales Ledger Clerk / Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant / Accounts Administrator
* To be someone who thrives in a structured role and is confident chasing outstanding payments
* Good working knowledge of MS Office programs, including Excel
