Our Hillier Garden Centre at Dorking is a well-established destination, offering plants, gifts and outdoor living products. Our on-site restaurant is a key part of the experience, providing customers with light snacks, cakes and beverages. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Cafe Manager to oversee the daily operations of our cafe.
You will lead a dedicated team, manage stock and supplies, control costs, and work closely with the Garden Centre Manager to maximise the Cafe\'s success. This role is full-time and permanent (37.5 hours per week) and will be rota-based, including alternate weekend working.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of the cafe to ensure the highest standards of customer service, food quality and operational efficiency.
* Lead a dedicated team, manage stock and supplies, control costs, and collaborate with the Garden Centre Manager to maximise cafe success.
Qualifications
* Worked in hospitality at management level for both front and back of house.
* A good level of kitchen experience and food knowledge with the ability to step in and support when required.
* Thorough understanding of allergens.
* Knowledgeable in maintaining and monitoring Health and Safety in the department.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal with employees at all levels and external contacts.
* Ability to respond to challenges with a can-do approach and remain calm under pressure.
* Effective time management, good organisation and prioritisation skills.
* Professional, enthusiastic and flexible approach; able to promote excellent teamwork to achieve exceptional customer experience.

* Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time, rota-based including alternate weekend working
