As Landscape Architects at Arup, we expect our designers to think creatively and innovatively, developing the best outcomes for people, nature, and the environment. Our work plays a crucial role in climate change adaptation by working with natural systems in urban and rural environments to build resilience and mitigate risks. This includes creating green and blue infrastructure strategies, multi-functional and regenerative design, along with sustainable principles throughout.

Arup provides an integrated approach and delivers sustainable solutions to city and complex urban and rural environment design. Our UK landscape teams are based in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield, and Southampton, working on various projects mainly across the UK, India, Middle East, and Africa. Our international teams include locations in Australia (Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney), Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai), and Europe (Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Istanbul, Madrid, Warsaw).

Our Landscape Architecture Services
We offer a full range of services, including:
* Landscape-led master planning
* Concept design through to detailed design and construction
* Visualizations/3D modeling
* Design guidelines and best practices

* Feasibility studies and area strategies
* Strategic planning, assessment, and policy reviews
Our teams collaborate closely with urban design, architecture, ecology, town planning, sustainability, engineering, cost consulting, and project management disciplines.
Typical Responsibilities
Your day-to-day tasks may include:
* Assisting with design work and graphics
* Preparing detailed construction drawings
* Creating masterplan graphics
* Producing Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA)
* Drafting clear, concise reports
* Participating in team meetings and project reviews
* Conducting site surveys
* Managing your workload to meet deadlines
Candidate Requirements
We are seeking candidates with:
* A Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline
* A Master's or Postgraduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture or Landscape Management is desirable
This role is based in Sheffield, and we will consider applications from Sheffield-based candidates only. If you hold a Bachelor's degree, you should be committed to obtaining a postgraduate qualification to achieve chartership while working with us.
We value curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to share knowledge and ideas effectively. A desire to deliver excellent client service is essential. You should be available to start in September 2025.
