Role Overview
We are looking for a Community Family Worker (CFW) to join our large and busy service based in Newhaven, Hailsham and Hastings. The CFW will work across East Sussex to support children looked after by the Children We Care For – Family Time Service.
Responsibilities
* Encourage positive relationships between children and their important people during assessment and decision‑making periods.
* Supervise family time sessions, observe interactions, and produce accurate written accounts.
* Promote play, healthy eating and respectful boundaries in the course of intervention.
* Ensure safe transportation of children across counties as a contracted car user.
* Attend and contribute actively to multi‑agency meetings, including court proceedings.
* Make sound decisions under pressure and manage time efficiently.
Qualifications
* Knowledge and understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
* Ability to drive across the county and transport children as a contracted car user.
* Experience of direct work with parents and children (e.g., youth work, nurseries).
* Able to make decisions under pressure.
* Excellent time‑management skills.
* Good standard of written English and IT skills.
Additional Requirements
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services. Evidence of an overseas police check is required if you have lived or worked abroad.
