Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for a Social Media Support Officer to join our team. You will join us on a permanent, full-time basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £24,187 - £25,799 per annum.
About the Social Media Support Officer role:
The Virtual Village Hall (VVH) is the main Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) live online interactive platform by which the charity interacts with and supports people in communities across the nation. Through its virtual setting, it supports the wider NHS and health care systems to improve and maintain the health of the nation and also tackle health inequalities, social deprivation and drive digital inclusion. VVH has touch points and is embedded with every aspect of the charity and provides a holistic nationwide offer.
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday
What you'll bring as our Social Media Support Officer:
The purpose of the VVH Social Media Support Officer is to schedule and run the daily live sessions on the Virtual Village Hall across all platforms and to be a key contact and support for the tutors, and to monitor the interactions across all VVH social platforms. They will be involved in content creation supporting the social media officer. In addition, they will be a key member of the Virtual Village Hall team providing input into the planning and developments and sourcing new diverse and inclusive content for the Virtual Village Hall.
Job Requirements
This is what we're looking for:
Knowledge
* Experience of working within a social media environment with direct experience of working with social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
* Knowledge of a fast-moving and evolving digital environment with knowledge of social media marketing & engagement
* Knowledge of current and emerging social media trends and how to apply those suitable for the organisation’s brand, values and audience.
Skills
* Experience of writing effective copy for social media platforms.
* Experience of Facebook Live Producer and third-party streaming platforms such as StreamYard
* Knowledge of tools available to manage social media platforms such as StatusBrew & Hootesuite.
* Creative skills to generate imagery and help with the creation of video and audio content. Familiar with editing software such as Adobe photoshop and Canva.
Experience
* Experience of using multiple social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok
* Experience in creating short-form content for reels, YouTube shorts and TikToks
* Experience of using social media management tools such as Orlo & Hootsuite
* Experience of using Meta Business Suite, Instagram Insights Analysis and TikTok Creator Studio, YT Studio to analyse short-form and static content performance
* Experience of working effectively from home, managing workload and collaborating within a remote team
Job Responsibilities
This is what you'll be doing:
* Social media – responsible for scheduling of the Virtual Village Hall sessions on all platforms and communicating with tutors. This includes some copywriting and creating posts and using StreamYard to schedule. Daily running of live and pre-recorded session, pushing the tutors live, responding to comments, managing interactions, and proactively flagging any safeguarding issues with manager. Utilising StatusBrew
* Monitoring and analysis – ensure central files on server and platforms are updated with final videos and supporting documentation. Monitor and track comments for feedback and potential case studies. Highlight these to the wider team for discussion and follow up.
* Technology – good knowledge and experience of social media platforms. Provide feedback to assist in plans and developments to grow and continuously improve the Virtual Village Hall. Requirement for professional development to keep up to date in a fast-moving environment, taking direction from the Social Media Officer.
* Communication – ensure that all communication matches to the consistent tone of voice for all of the Virtual Village Hall platforms. Communicate clearly, timely and empathetically with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including vulnerable service users, specialist tutors, volunteers and staff. Outreach for case studies.
* Content and tutors – Provide recommendations for new content based on analysis of feedback, engagement and keeping up to date with trends and environmental changes. Key role in sourcing new tutors with a wide range of backgrounds and skills.
