Exciting opportunity at Thames Water! Join our team as a Project Manager in the Thames Valley Delivery Office.
Work alongside a dynamic project team to drive Capital Projects efficiently and effectively, delivering top-notch outcomes for our customers and communities. Your role will involve modernising water networks and constructing new reservoirs to uphold our essential service to customers.
What you’ll be doing as a Project Manager
1. Establish and continuously promote proactive health, safety & environment culture across complex and high-risk Project portfolios and our service providers.
2. Develop and deliver an optimised project to achieve all regulatory, statutory, and internal outputs, deadlines, and targets.
3. Accountability throughout the project lifecycle, governance compliance, and stakeholder engagement, leading to smooth transition of project outcomes into operations.
4. Protect, manage, and enhance Thames Water’s reputation with external customers and stakeholders.
5. Develop project briefs, including information for the early contractor involvement phase.
6. Support the development of tender packages and assist the Procurement team to meet demanding timescales.
7. Manage the project's ‘route to consent’ strategy, highlighting risks and considering early works.
8. Manage and assure contractor performance to deliver outcomes on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Role is hybrid – on-site and in the office at Clearwater Court Reading, with flexibility required.
36 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with part-time applications considered.
What you should bring to the role of Project Manager
1. Educated to HNC/degree level with relevant operational or project management experience.
2. Experience managing and developing teams in a culture of accountability.
3. Contractual awareness of project management work.
4. Proven track record managing third-party organisations.
5. Ability to implement feedback systems for performance improvement.
6. Ability to deliver tough messages with empathy.
