I'm currently working with a lovely, well-regarded primary school in Richmond who are looking for an Assistant Director of Music to join them on a temporary basis, with the hope this could become permanent from September.\n\nThey need someone ASAP (ideally latest start 23rd February), though there is some flexibility for the right person.\n\nThe role at a glance:\n\nFull school day: 8:00am - 4:00pm\nTemporary until 3rd July, with potential to go permanent\nPaid to scale (Teacher pay scale 25/26)\nTeaching around 22 x 35-minute lessons per week\nTeaching Years 3-8\nMorning ensembles 8:30-9:00am\nLunchtime music 12:30-1:00pm\nSome general cover may be needed from time to time \n\nWhat they're looking for:\n\nYou don't need QTS - they're really after a strong all-round musician\nA confident pianist who can sight-read and play by ear\nSomeone comfortable with classical music, with flexibility across styles (jazz/pop useful too)\nHappy teaching classes as well as leading ensembles and performances \n\nWhat you'd be doing:\n\nTeaching curriculum music across Years 3-8\nAccompanying choirs, soloists, services and school productions\nLeading at least one choir and one larger ensemble\nHelping with concerts, workshops and performances (including setting up orchestra)\nBeing part of a busy, positive and well-supported music department \n\nThe Director of Music is genuinely great to work with ...
