About the role
Nicholas Associates have an excellent opportunity to work with an engineering client in East Yorkshire on a variety of UK and international projects. The role involves managing all commercial aspects of the projects from contract award up to final account. Projects range from £100k to £10m and involve multi‑disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
* Work on multiple projects simultaneously
* Prepare and submit applications, identify and price variations, agree final accounts
* Prepare cashflow forecasts
* Establish project budgets from estimator cost build‑ups
* Prepare and report monthly cost reports
* Review contract documents pre‑contract award
* Attend project and client meetings
* Work with internal departments to assist with supplier and subcontractor procurement and contract award
* Review subcontractor applications and issue payment certificates
* Review and authorise subcontractor/supplier purchase orders and invoices
* Provide contract administration duties throughout the project
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or a related discipline
* Post‑qualification experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor or similar (2‑4 years)
* Proven experience in a similar role working for a main contractor or multidisciplinary engineering company
* Experience with NEC and JCT contract forms
* Experience in creating and reporting monthly cost reports/CVRs
* Strong technical understanding of construction and engineering disciplines
* Excellent interpersonal skills and customer interaction experience
* Proficient IT skills
* UK driving licence (required for travel across the UK)
