About Our Client
The client is a Creative Writing, Film and Theatre graduate from Reading University living near the university in a bungalow. She has cerebral palsy that causes stiff limbs, spasms and involuntary movements. She is a full-time wheelchair user and values a friendly, supportive and independent living environment.
Job Details
Role: Personal Assistant
Location: Reading
Hours: Live-in, 7 days on / 7 days off
Rate of Pay: £180 per day / £1,260 per week worked
Holiday Pay: 5.6 weeks (pro rata)
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
You will provide personal care and social support, and support study-related activities. The role goes beyond standard care work and aims to positively impact the client’s daily life. Full training in the client’s specific needs will be provided. You will work as part of a two-PAs team to deliver 24/7 care and support, including:
* Personal Care
* Social Support
* Night Time Care
Ideal Candidate / Requirements
Essential:
* Be physically fit, calm, patient and caring
* Excellent communication skills
* Good organisational skills
* Able to follow instructions and work on your own initiative
* Responsible attitude
* Non-smoker
* Good sense of humour
* Clean and tidy in appearance and ways
Desirable: willingness to adapt and learn; team-oriented and reliable.
