Description:
Search is supporting the recruitment of a Trust Accountant to join our client's Edinburgh office with hybrid working. If you are experienced in trust accounting and looking to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, you are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparing and coordinating accounts for trusts, executries, and charities.
2. Auditing, editing, and comparing various types of trust accounts.
3. Determining correct opening balances and gathering necessary information for account preparation.
4. Reconciling Trust cash accounting and the investment register.
5. Collaborating with the Tax team to establish tax retentions and reconcile Trust tax positions.
6. Working closely with legal/tax teams, external investment managers, and tax advisors.
7. Providing additional administrative support for larger trust and charity clients.
8. Ensuring financial and business awareness to deliver cost-effective and efficient services.
Skills and Experience:
* Knowledge of legal accountancy, particularly in trusts and executries.
* Effective communication skills to engage clients and colleagues.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Proactive approach.
* Experience in a similar role within a professional services environment.
* High level of discretion and confidentiality.
