Aerodynamics Engineer (Testing)
Catfoss Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a globally respected R&D company to recruit an Aerodynamics Engineer for their expanding team.
We seek a talented and passionate Aerodynamics Engineer to join our Aerodynamics Department. Reporting to a Team Leader, the successful candidate will support a variety of commercial and research projects from inception to completion, including preparation, wind tunnel testing, aerodynamic analysis, and reporting. Experience with commercial wind tunnel applications and advanced measurement techniques is highly desirable.
The role involves working alongside a multidisciplinary team of skilled engineers to provide high-quality aerodynamic data using equipment such as wind tunnels and high-performance computing clusters.
Typical hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (shift work may be required)
Salary range: GBP30,000 to GBP35,000 (depending on experience)
Aerodynamics Engineer - Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical leadership and support to project teams.
2. Deliver projects meeting customer satisfaction, quality standards, and within time and budget constraints.
3. Handle client requests, prepare technical bids, and oversee wind tunnel and testing requirements.
4. Ensure data quality and timely delivery of results and reports to a global client base.
5. Analyze and interpret aerodynamic datasets.
6. Support experimental and numerical tasks relevant to the business.
7. Produce technical reports to accompany analysis activities.
8. Contribute to the development of innovative testing processes and facility capabilities.
What we are looking for:
1. Degree or equivalent experience in aerospace, engineering, or related science and technology field.
2. Relevant industrial or academic experience is desirable.
3. Experience with wind tunnel testing.
4. Strong knowledge of aerodynamics.
5. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
6. Excellent communication and networking skills.
7. Willingness to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Ability to see projects through to completion.
9. Confidence to challenge the status quo and seek improvements.
