Contract: Permanent

Salary: £25,183 - £27,269 per annum (Grade 3)

Hours: 36.66 per week

Based: Oldham Council Offices Spindles Shopping Centre George Street Oldham OL1 1HD

Closing Date: Monday 30th June 2025

Role Overview:

Working within the Council’s Invoice & Debt Recovery Team you will be responsible for collecting Housing Benefit Overpayments to ensure collection rates are reached and maintained.


Key Responsibilities:

* Proactively recover Housing Benefit Overpayments from individuals/Landlords
* Progressing cases to the next recovery action
* Implementing Direct Earning Attachments
* Managing your own workload
* Dealing with telephone/email enquiries


Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

* Experience of providing a quality customer service and of assisting others.
* Experience of IT systems including Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience of prioritising and managing your own workload and achieving deadlines and targets.
* Experience of Debt Collection procedures
