Year 6 Class Teacher – Key Stage 2
Salary: £37,868 – £50,474 (MPS, Outer London)
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: March 2026 (earlier start welcomed)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding and experienced Year 6 Class Teacher to join a welcoming and high-performing Church of England primary school in the heart of Enfield. This role is ideal for a confident KS2 practitioner who thrives on challenge and is passionate about helping pupils reach their full potential in their final year of primary education.
The Year 6 cohort has been strategically reorganised into smaller classes of approximately 15 pupils, allowing for greater focus, targeted teaching, and meaningful impact. Maths attainment is already on track; the school is now seeking a teacher with strong Year 6 English curriculum expertise to raise standards in reading further and writing. A dedicated Teaching Assistant supports the year group, enabling collaborative and focused teaching.

Requirements:
To be eligible for this role and the stated rate of pay, applicants must have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Proven and successful experience teaching Year 6 (this role is not suitable for ECTs)
• Strong and demonstrable practice in Key Stage 2 English, particularly reading and writing
• A resilient, reflective, and driven approach to teaching and learning
• The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative staff team
• Availability to commit to a permanent role
Key Responsibilities:
• Planning and delivering high-quality teaching in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
• Leading learning in Year 6 English, raising attainment in reading and writing
• Using assessment effectively to inform teaching and support pupil progress
• Preparing pupils academically and emotionally for SATs and transition to secondary school
• Working collaboratively with a dedicated Teaching Assistant to maximise learning outcomes
• Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and wellbeing
• Contributing positively to the wider life, values, and ethos of the school

Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary of £50,474 is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to M6.
