The Opportunity
Worldline Merchant Services, the main business line of Worldline with €3.3bn revenue out of €4.6bn, is establishing a new entity in the UK to capitalize on market opportunities following Brexit. Our goal is to become a leading provider of acquiring services in the UK, offering value and choices to merchants of all sizes.
Role Overview
We seek a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our UK finance team. The role involves managing balance sheet substantiation, audits, taxes, VAT, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee balance sheet substantiation, including trial balance analysis
2. Manage financial transactions related to the balance sheet
3. Lead month-end, quarterly, and annual closing processes
4. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process
5. Manage all tax-related activities, including corporation tax, deferred tax, and PAYE
6. Ensure timely submission of VAT returns
7. Manage cash landing processes
8. Supervise outsourced GFS team
9. Support ad-hoc financial projects and analysis
10. Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations
Candidate Profile
We are looking for big thinkers with a passion for positive change, eager to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will have:
1. Over 5 years of experience in financial accounting within financial services, with audit exposure
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3. Qualified accountant certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA)
4. Strong understanding of IFRS standards
5. Excellent analytical and organizational skills
6. Fluency in English
7. Attention to detail and multitasking ability
8. Experience in scalable businesses
9. Strong communication skills
10. Ability to work remotely within a global matrix organization
11. Willingness to learn in a dynamic environment
12. Experience with SAP is a plus
