The Role
We are looking for a Tube Assembly & Test Technician to join our team, supporting the processing, assembly, and testing of X-ray tubes for our industry-leading scanning systems.
This is a hands-on role within a high-tech manufacturing environment, working with sophisticated vacuum and high-voltage equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble and test X-ray tubes ready for integration into scanning systems
* Operate vacuum bake-out ovens and associated vacuum equipment
* Conduct tube activation, assembly completion, and preparation for testing
* Perform high-voltage conditioning and testing
* Diagnose and rectify vacuum leaks
* Carry out basic fault finding on tubes, equipment, and vacuum systems
* Support wiring loom build and general assembly activities
* Complete accurate data recording (Excel-based) and shift reports
* Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and test rigs
* Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required
* Ensure compliance with COSHH and health & safety standards
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Key Requirements
* 34 years experience in a technical/engineering or manufacturing environment
* Experience operating complex manufacturing, scientific, or test equipment
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined processes
* Comfortable working with computer-controlled equipment (HMI interfaces)
* Good team player with strong communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting
* Knowledge of safe working practices
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Experience xsngvjr with vacuum systems or high-voltage equipment
* Background in X-ray, medical, or scientific equipment manufacturing
* Cleanroom experience
* Helium leak testing or vacuum system maintenance
* Familiarity with quality systems, COSHH, 5S, or Six Sigma
* Experience using lifting equipment (e.g., gantry cranes)
Qualifications
* ONC/HND in Engineering or Scientific discipline, or equivalent experience
