My client is a well-established, high respected IP firm, consistently recognised as the leading firm in the IP sector. The firm provides a full suite of IP services to clients at the forefront of innovation in sectors such as technology, engineering, life sciences and media. About the Role:
This newly created position will support the Client Development Director as they lead a transformation in the firm’s approach to business development. Based in London, the role offers a 50/50 hybrid working split. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of 30 partners and 200 staff, working closely with the Client Development Director.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Client Development Director in driving the firm’s business development strategy, contributing to the evolution of client plans and initiatives.
* Assisting with client pitches and submissions. Enhancing the quality and presentation of business development materials, ensuring all documents reflect the firm’s brand and standards.
* Monitoring and following up on leads generated from events, ensuring accurate capture and timely action on client information and opportunities.
* Conducting comprehensive client and market research, including market mapping and analysis of industry trends to inform strategic decision-making.
* Promoting a business development mindset among fee earners, facilitating discussions around individual and team objectives, and supporting the development of professional profiles.
* Collaborating with the marketing team to deliver targeted campaigns and activities with a business development focus.
* Managing elements of the business development pipeline and CRM system, ensuring best practice in lead tracking, reporting, and data management.
* Supporting relationship management with corporate partnerships and membership organisations.
* Provide support to the marketing function as required, contributing to a cohesive and high-performing team.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be proactive, demonstrate strong initiative, and possess the ability to work independently. Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and managing a varied workload is essential. Previous BD experience gained in the legal or wider professional services sector is essential. Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems are also necessary.
