Overview
An opportunity has arisen within the NHS Fife Occupational Therapy Service for a Band 4 Occupational Therapy support worker to work within the Acute Stroke Occupational Therapy team. The post is based in the acute stroke ward at the Victoria Hospital, with a key role in supporting OT activity in critical care and delivering equipment or follow up visits throughout Fife.
This role is diverse and works as part of a multi‑disciplinary team. It involves a range of duties with a complex client group, focusing on client‑centred interventions to promote independence in activities of daily living and support discharge from hospital.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Occupational Therapy team in the delivery of a range of client‑centred interventions.
* Support OT activity in critical care and accompany visits to the acute stroke ward.
* Carry out allocated tasks independently, effectively and to a high standard.
* Travel throughout Fife to deliver equipment and conduct follow‑up visits.
* Participate in relevant education and development programmes and receive regular supervision.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience working with patients with a range of conditions and complex needs is desirable.
* SVQ level 3 certificate in health/social care or evidence of working towards the certificate is essential.
* Excellent communication skills and a flexible approach.
