We are seeking a Procurement Manager / Category Manager with good knowledge and experience of public sector procurement regulations across various categories, ability to prepare tender documentation, and strong line management and IT skills. This role is based in Wokingham.
This position is known internally as a Procurement & Contracts Senior Specialist.
SALARY: £50,788 - £56,075 per annum + Benefits.
LOCATION: Hybrid role working part from the office in Wokingham and part from home.
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent.
WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week.
Job Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Manager / Category Manager with expertise in public sector procurement regulations, including the ability to develop tender documentation and manage contracts effectively. You will provide specialist procurement advice, guidance, and support across various areas such as Property Services, Housing schemes, Governance, and Legal.
You will support the organization’s strategic goals, ensuring alignment with the business plan and compliance with the new Procurement Act 2023 legislation coming into effect in February 2025.
DUTIES
* Line management of 1 FTE Procurement Specialist, providing support and guidance.
* Develop procurement and contract management strategies for different categories.
* Collaborate with colleagues to identify procurement risks and opportunities.
* Develop contract management approaches ensuring compliance with the Procurement Act 2023.
* Offer high-level advice and support to team members and colleagues.
* Explore innovative methods to achieve organizational objectives.
Candidate Requirements
* Good knowledge and experience of public sector procurement regulations across various categories.
* Understanding of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
* Experience in preparing tender documentation, evaluation, and governance processes.
* Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CIPS) or substantial experience in procurement roles.
* Strong IT skills with Microsoft Office and experience with e-procurement software.
